LAHORE: The Anti-Smuggling Organization of Customs Preventive Lahore has seized large quantity of smuggled goods and non-custom-paid vehicles worth Rs1.08 billion in first two months of the current fiscal year.
On the directions of Collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi, Anti-Smuggling Organization of Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Lahore headed by Mr. Muteen Alam, Additional Collector, Mr. Faizan Badar, Deputy Collector, Ms. Sidra Naz, Assistant Collector, and team consisting of Mr. Faiz-ur-Rahman, Superintendent, and Mansoor Elahi. Mr. Shahid Bakhtair Bhatti, M Asghar Purewal, M Saleem Khan. Hassan Mahmood, Abdul Ghaffar, Javaid lqbal Butt, Inspectors seized a huge quantity of smuggled / non-duty paid goods and vehicles during July, 2021 to Aug, 2021 worth Rs.1089.21 million.
Goods include Cloth, Tyres, Cigarettes, Dry Fruits, Medicines, Cosmetics, etc. Vehicles include, Toyota Land Cruiser (V8), Toyota Hilux Surf, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota Mark X, Toyota Vitz cars.
Cases valuing Rs. 644.14 million were made during the corresponding period of last year (2020-21). An increase of 69.01 percent excess as compared with the corresponding period last year.
