HYDERABAD: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sukkur (I&I Sukkur) has come hard on smugglers as large quantities of various smuggled goods were seized. Due to the relentless efforts of ASO of I&I Sukkur, the movement of smuggled goods via Sukkur to upcountry have been reduced to minimum.
Keeping in line with the directions of Director General I&I, Islamabad Abdul Rasheed Shaikh to curb the menace of smuggling through Balochistan to up country via Sukkur, Director Saleem Memon advised Additional Director Jamshed Talpur and ASO staff to keep strict vigilance on the movement of smuggled goods from Jacobabad to Sukkur.
It may be mentioned here that DG I&I Abdul Rasheed Shaikh has tasked I&I Sukkur that smuggled goods must not be transported to Punjab and upcountry from Karachi and Baluchistan.
The I&I Sukkur led by Additional Director Jamshed Talpur has been very efficient and made several seizures of various goods worth millions of rupees.
Subsequently, I&I Sukkur ASO staff seized a mini truck and recovered large quantity of smuggled betel nut. Betel nut betel nut along with transporting vehicle worth Rs7.97 million in total; have been seized.
Moreover, in the past two weeks, I&I Sukkur seized One Toyota Vitz Car worth Rs1.2 million; Irani milk and confectionary worth Rs1.5 million; LTV tubeless tyres worth Rs1.08 million; toiletries worth Rs1.0 million and another Toyota Vitz car worth Rs1.6 million.
