Customs Quetta seizes smuggled goods worth Rs30 million

QUETTA: Customs Quetta has seized large quantity of smuggled goods at Yaro and Rakhni. These goods were loaded in a 10-wheeler truck and a Hino Truck.

Chief Collector Gul Rahman has advised the enforcement staff to increase  vigilance at check posts to check transportation of smuggled goods. Gul Rehman and Collector Quetta Irfan Javed, Additional Collector Yasir Kalwar and Deputy Collector Akbar Jan are personally visiting check posts to monitor the situation.

Inspector Shahzad Akhter Customs Yaro Check Post intercepted a 10-wheeler truck and recovered large quantity of welding rods which were being transported to in-country. Similarly, a Hino truck was stopped at Rakhni check post and the examination led to recovery of large quantity of smuggled betel nut and cigarettes. These goods were being moved in the garb of onions.

The value of seized goods and vehicles comes to Rs30 million.

Moreover, the border agencies are on high alert in the wake of developments in Afghanistan.
