Customs Quetta launches crackdown on NCP vehicles

QUETTA: Customs Quetta has launched a crackdown against non-custom-paid (NCP) vehicles. On the instructions of Chief Collector Enforcement Baluchistan Gul Rehman, FIRs are being lodged against the owners of non-custom-paid vehicles.

In an operation at Lakpas, Customs staff apprehended three NCP vehicles including two Toyota Aqua and one Suzuki Passenger Van, and arrested two persons including Abdul Razzak and Abdul Latif. FIR is lodged against the accused.

Collector Quetta Irfan Javed said the crackdown was launched in line with the directives of Federal Government, FTO, and Chief Collector Gul Rehman.

Irfan Javed said the elements involved in the business of NCP have been warned through media campaigns and social media campaigns, and soon with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies the ambit of campaign would be expanded to other cities and areas.

Additional Collector Yasir Kalwar and Deputy Collector Akbar Jan are supervising the campaign against NCPs while Superintendent Tariq Sultan and his team comprising Inspectors Jamil Kakar, Zahir Shah and Muhamad Hashim are in the field.
