Customs Quetta seizes smuggled goods worth Rs140 million

QUETTA: Customs Quetta with the assistance of Frontier Corps Balochistan seized large quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs140 million at Check Posts Kakpass and Surab.

Information was passed through Collector Irfan Javed to Additional Collector Yasir kulwar that attempts would be made to transport smuggled goods.

Deputy Collector Akbar Jan advised Superintendent Tariq Sultan, Inspectors Jamil Kakar, Gulsher Zehri, Ahmed Nawaz Zehri, Yousaf Notezai, Muhammad Hashim and Shawkat Ali to tighten vigilance at various check posts.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Chief Collector Balochistan Gul Rehman have already instructed the field formations to intensify the anti-smuggling drive.

The seized goods include smuggled cloth, betel nut, petroleum products, tyres, auto parts, electronics, blankets and cigarettes.

Two non customs paid vehicles along with one trailer, two tankers and bus were also seized.
