KARACHI: MCC Appraisement East has lodged five FIRs against several persons for importing and clearing used vehicles on forged and fake documents.
Collector MCC Appraisement East Engr. Riaz Memon ordered Additional Collectors Shakir Ali and Afzal Watto to conduct an audit of the vehicles imported under gift and baggage scheme.
The audit conducted by Principal Appraiser Shahrukh and Appraising OfficersMohammad Bilal and Malak Hashim under the supervision of Assistant Collector Ali Asad found that several persons in connivance with Customs agents had imported and cleared used vehicles in violationo ofImport Policy Order through submitting fake and forged documents.
An FIR is lodged against Munaj Wawji of M/s Innovative Logistics. Munaf
presented original passport of a passenger Uzma Arif to the Customs for attestation. Examination of passport found Uzma Arif had ‘dependent status’ and not eligible to import vehicle under the Import Policy.
Later, Munaf submitted a salary certificate of Uzma Arif, which turned out to be fake.
Another FIR is lodged against Customs agents Akhtar & Sons Enterprises and M/s Pakhal Enterprises and passenger Suleman Khan for committing mis-declaration and submitting fake documents to circumvent the provisions of Import Policy for the import of used vehicles.
FIR is lodged against Customs agents Akhtar & Sons Enterprises and M/s United Spectrum and overseas Pakistani Ubaidullah for committing mis-declaration and submitting fake documents to circumvent the provisions of Import Policy for the import of used vehicles.
Another FIR is lodged against Customs agents Akhtar & Sons Enterprises and M/s United Spectrum and passenger Iftikhar Hussain for committing mis-declaration and submitting fake documents to circumvent the provisions of Import Policy for the import of used vehicles.
FIR is lodged against Customs agents Akhtar & Sons Enterprises and M/s Fairy International and passenger Abzar Ali for committing mis-declaration and submitting fake documents to circumvent the provisions of Import Policy for the import of used vehicles.
