KARACHI: The Collector of Customs, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim was asked to immediately release a consignment of plastic scrap which was stopped at the port due to blocking of NTN by Assistant Collector, Preventice (Oil Section).
Muhammad Nasir moved the court through Rana Sakhawat Ali advocate with the prayer to de-block the NTN. The petitioner undertook to pay any recovery of previous consignment.
The bench issued notice on a previous date of hearing to all respondents including main respondent Assistant Collector, Preventive (Oil Section).
The bench noted that main respondent was served but none appeared. The bench expressed utter surprise that how Oil Section got involved in this consignment.
The counsel appearing for the customs PMBQ was unable to respond to the queries by the court which later ordered that NTN of the petitioner be de-blocked and consignment “shall be released forthwith”.
