KARACHI: MCC Port Qasim has notified that coal will be cleared through green channel.

Sharjeel Jamal of M/s Utrade Logistics had approached Collector MCC Port Qasim complaining of problems being faced in the clearance of imported coal.

In a letter to Collector MCC Port Qasim, Jamal noted that their client M/s Huaneng Shendong Ruyi Pakistan Energy Limited was paying Rs 100 million worth of duty and taxes every week for clearance of coal, but the clearance was delayed due to shortage of Customs staff, unnecessary marking to PA and limited working hours.

He urged the Customs authorities to extend the working hours of the Customs staff for clearance of imported coal.
