KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has notified on Wednesday that all the Superintendent Customs, Superintendent Preventive Services and Principal Appraisers who were allowed time scale BS-17 are entitled to privileges of premature increment, rental ceiling, house rent allowance and medical allowance.

In pursuance of judgment of FST duly upheld by the Supreme Court, the Finance Division withdrew the last two conditions. Therefore the Ministerial Superintends (BS-16) who were granted time scale BS-17 were made entitled to all benefits of BS-17 including perks/privileges, premature increment, rental ceiling/house rent allowance and medical allowance etc.

However, such benefits were not extended to officials of Pakistan Customs on grant of higher time scale.

The FBR approached the Finance Division with the request that the Superintendent Customs, Superintendent Preventive Services and Principal Appraises may also be allowed the said perks and privileges on the analogy of Superintendent of Ministries/Divisions.

The Finance Division has now conveyed the last two conditions were withdrawn are also applicable in the cases of Principal Appraisers, Superintendent Preventive and Superintendent Customs in field formations of FBR.

Hence all the Supenntendent Customs, Superintendent Preventive Services and Principal Appraisers who were allowed time scale KS-17 are entitled to privileges of premature increment rental ceiling, house rent allowance. medical allowance.
