LAHORE: Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Lahore has seized large quantity of smuggled goods including shoes and cloth as raids were conducted on warehouses accommodating smuggled goods.

In line with the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan to rot out smuggling, Director Lahore Asad Rizvi has advised his staff to strengthen intelligence network and conduct raids on warehouses housing smuggled goods.

In this connection, Additional Director Hasan Farid formed a team comprising Superintendent Agha Qadeer, Aslam Chaudry, Gulzar Bhatti and Sohail Murtaza and raids were conducted on warehouses at Dil Muhammad Road and Kasur Road.

Large quantity of smuggled cloth worth Rs30 million and shoes worth Rs117.5 million were recovered. Further investigation is underway.
