Lawyers across Sindh observe strike in protest over French blasphemous caricature

KARACHI: Lawyers of Sindh observed a complete strike here on Wednesday to protest the publication of blasphemous caricature in France.

Not a single case, even the cases of urgent nature were adjourned by the judges of High Court of Sindh as no bench assembled today or any judge came to his court room.

The hundreds of cases were adjourned at Karachi District Courts complex. The prisoners brought from Central Prison Karachi were kept in city court’s lockup and after day long wait returned to prison.

The lawyer bodies also held emergency meetings in which French Prime Minister was criticized for his support to blasphemy.

They demanded that blasphemy be declared a major crime world over.
