MCC Preventive Quetta seizes smuggled goods worth Rs106 million

QUETTA: MCC (Enforcement & Compliance) Quetta seized huge quantity of high valued contraband smuggled goods like; Auto parts, Betel nuts, Blankets, Cloth, Crockery, Electronic items, Medicines,  Tea, Tyres/Tubes, Soap, Shampoo & other goods and transporting vehicles by Customs Staff of Lakpass Checkpost.

The goods worth Rs106 million were being smuggled to down cities of the country. Information was received through Collector Irfan Javed to the effect that huge quantity of high valued contraband goods would be smuggled into the country.

The Customs staff posted at Lakpass was directed to maintain liaison with FC for joint operation and to observe strict vigilance on the routes.

It is further added that the intensified anti-smuggling drive has resulted in the seizures of Rs.223.10 million from 1st till 6th October, 2020 as compared to the seizures of Rs.131 million during the corresponding period of the last year.
