SHC restrains Pakistan Customs from action against Principal Appraiser

KARACHI: Seven Defendant custom officers including senior most Custom Intelligence officer were restrained from taking any action on a report prepared at Islamabad head office bearing number F/11(29) DGCI/ET/ PF/17 by alleged contemnors No 7 Assistant Director, Headquarter.

All the alleged contemnors were also directed by the single judge of High Court of Sindh (SHC) to file affidavits to the applications filed by plaintiff Irshad Ali Shah, Principal Appraiser through his counsel Khawaja Shamsul Islam Advocate.

Hearing a contempt of court application, the judge ordered issuance of notices for Sept 09 when the hearing is already fixed.
The applicant alleged that impugned report was prepared to disobey the order dated 17_ 8_ 2020 passed in the suit and contains material against the plaintiff.
The bench on first day of hearing has suspended an order placing the plaintiff “on hold” passed by Hyderabad Directorate of Custom Intelligence.
