KARACHI: The General Body meeting of Pakistan Customs Principal Appraisers, Appraising Officers and Valuation Officers have elected an interim body of Pakistan Customs Appraisement Officers Association (PCAOA).

Principal Appraiser Sultan Aurungzaib is elected President, PA Amjad Iqbal as Vice President, Valuation Officer Muhammad Yusuf Bari as General Secretary, Imtiaz hussain Khan as Information Secretary, while PA Muhammad Nadeem Butt, Valuation Officers Shamaz Saqib and Mian Imran Umer are elected as Members of the body.

The interim body will be considered as actual representative body for all purposes till oath taking ceremony of the freshly elected cabinet through election. The interim body will also contact the concerned quarters for arranging fresh elections of PCAOA preferably on November  07, 2020.

Earlier, the general body meeting observed that elected body of PCAOA has lapsed its legitimate tenure since long and the different office bearers also retired or promoted. However, fresh elections were not conducted without any plausible reason.

Due to non-existence of elected body since years, the association had lost its identity and respect in the department.

It may be mentioned here the newly recruited Appraising Officers are quite excited about the association and willing to take part in the elections.
