KARACHI: Soon after Irfan Javed assumed the office Collector Quetta, the Customs Quetta has expedited its anti-smuggling drive.

As part of the campaign against illegal trade, near Baleli check post, Customs Quetta foiled an attempt to transport 13 tons of smuggled betel nut, 1.65 tons of Gutka, 500Kg chromate and 2.4 tons of pulses. Similarly, a tanker filled with 40,000 liters of smuggled Irani diesel was seized near Lakpas, the value of seized goods come to Rs60 million.

On the instructions of Additional Collector Yasir Kalwar, teams led by Deputy Collector Akbar Jan and comprising Superintendents Khursheed Husni, Tariq sultan  and Aslam Khan, Inspectors Asfandyar Khan, Ahmed Nawaz Zehri  and Yusuf Notezai took part in these operations.

Chief Collector Saifuddin Junejo and Collector Irfan Javed appreciated the efforts of Customs staff.
