KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan has allowed disbursement of honorarium equal to one basic pay only for the officers of Inland Revenue Service and Pakistan Customs Service.

However, the disbursement of this amount is subject to availability of funds under the relevant head of account, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) notified.

Last week, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) notified for all field formations of Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) and Inland Revenue Service (IRS) that no sanctioned or unsanctioned amount of cash reward/honoraria would disbursed by an field formation of FBR.

Prime minister had taken notice of the millions of rupees disbursed among officers of FBR as cash reward/honoraria, and on his directives all these rewards etc had been stopped.

It may be mentioned here that two month to eight month basic salaries were disbursed among officers as cash reward/honoraria. A member of Appraisement Officers Association said these awards were distributed among BS-18 and above officers. He said these rewards should be disbursed among the officials of BS-17 and below, as these were the personnel on ground.
