KARACHI: A ten member full court of Supreme Court of Pakistan reserved judgment in a petition filed by Justice Qazi Fayz Isa challenging Presidential Reference against him before Supreme Judicial Commission. The bench earlier heard arguments by Munir A Malik, counsel for the petioner judge, Raza Rabbani, counsel for Sindh Bar Council.

The bench also took on record a sealed envelope submitted by Dr Farogh A Naseem, counsel representing President and Prime Minister of Pakustan, comprising documents from FBR.
The case was heard for forty days and yesterday, the 39th hearing proved to be a turning point when Spanish wife of Justice Isa laid money trail of properties purchased by her between year 2003–2009 when Justice Qazi Fayz Isa was a practising lawyer. He was later made judge of Balochistan High Court. Munir A Malik in his concluding arguments raised the issues of how and by whom material was gathered against the serving sitting judge, the legality of Assets Recovery Unit headed by Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shehzad Akbar.

The petioner judge has pleaded the malafide and revenge for delivering judgment in Faizabad Dharna case.
The judgement contains observations about role of sensitive agencies and most sacred ,most powerful force in the country.

The judgment is expected to be announced by this evening and will go a long way in respect of independence of judiciary.
