QUETTA: Model Customs Collectorate (Enforcement and Compliance) Quetta and FC  (North) in a joint intelligence based operation raided two godowns simultaneously in the Kuchlak area of Quetta and recovered   huge quantity of foreign origins  goods including  cigarettes, Betel nuts , pan parag , tyres, welding electrodes , Dry Fruits ,Ajinomoto Salt and Electronic items .

Despite stiff resistance from miscreants, the operation was completed successfully leading to the seizure of three truck load of smuggled goods. The value of the seized goods is estimated to be approximately Rs.40 million.

Information was received through Collector Appraisement Quetta Abdul Waheed Marwat to Additional Collector Yasir Kalwar regarding dumping of smuggled goods at certain warehouses. It may be mentioned here Collector Preventive Irfan Javed is on leave and Marwat had the additional charge of Collector Preventive Quetta.

Deputy Collector Akbar Jan formed a team headed by Assistant Collector Hameer Khan to conduct the raid and coordinated with FC North. Huge quantity of foreign origin goods were dumped at godowns in Kuchlak with the intention to smuggle these to Quetta and inside country.

The anti- smuggling operations have been beefed up in the light of instructions passed by Member Customs (Operations) upon the directions passed by the Federal Government. Member customs operations and collector custom Quetta appreciated this combined raid.
