GWADAR: Anti-smuggling Organization (ASO) of MCC Gwadar has seized large quantity of narcotics worth millions of rupees.
Information was received through Collector Gwadar Tahir Qureshi regarding movement of contraband goods.
ASO Mobile Squad was alerted, and subsequently a vehicle was intercepted and checked, which led to the recovery of Hashish 65 kgs, Opium 32 kgs, Heroin 2 kg.
Total 99 kgs of narcotics were seized and driver of the vehicle is arrested. Market value of the seized substance amounts to Rs 13.5 Million.
It may be mentioned here that due to the closure of borders with Iran and Afghanistan, smuggling of other goods have been limited, and the smugglers are now moved to narcotics business.
