Transit cargo to start crossing Afghan border on April 06, 2020
PESHAWAR: A trilateral talk between Pakistan, China and Afghanistan forces has decided that border would be opened (one-way) for three days, and containers/trucks carrying transit cargo would start crossing border into Afghanistan on April 06, 2020. The flag meeting between three forces was held at Bab-e-Dosti. It was decided that in three days Afghans stuck in Pakistan would leave back. After that Pakistanis who had travelled on passport or CNIC card would come back, 100 each day. They will be held at Quarantine for 14 days. After that, Pakistani drivers of Afghan Transit Cargo vehicles would handover the container laden vehicles to Afghani drivers to make the delivery and return the vehicles and empty containers at Bab-e-Dosti. Those Pakistani drivers willing to drive these vehicles into Afghanistan themselves would have to spend 14 days at Chaman Quarantine center on their return. Container would start moving to Afghanistan from Monday, April 06, 2020. It may be mentioned here that thousands of transit cargo containers are stuck up for over a month after governments closed their borders due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
