Customs takes measures against the global pandemic

KARACHI: Customs Enforcement South has taken stringent precautionary measures at the ports to safeguard against the Corona Virus.

On the directives of Chief Collector Wasif Memon, screening equipment has been provided at ports and container terminals while the staff has been advised to adopt all precautions while executing their responsibilities.

An official said the authorities were considering reducing presence of staff, and filing processing and assessment of Goods Declaration (GDs) may be conducted from home.

It is also being considered to reduce physical examination of imported consignments to the minimal.
