KARACHI: Engro Polymer & Chemicals Plant, at Ghaggar Phatak Port Qasim was shut down on Friday morning after a gas leak incident caused sickness to employees.
Engro confirmed that an isolated incident of gas leak occurred at the Engro Polymer & Chemicals Plant, Port Qasim, this morning.
” Company is gathering complete details related to the incident. Based on initial reports. some people have been shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment of vomiting/nausea condition. Engro staff is accompanying these people to ensure that they receive adequate medical treatment,” an official communication noted.
No injuries or fatalities have been reported. The plant has been taken offline as a precautionary measure.
Engro will conduct a complete and thorough investigation into the incident.
