KARACHI: The Directorate of Intelligence & Investigations (DIT), Port Muhammad Bin Qasim Collectorate was restrained from coercive action against petitioner company Ansa General Trading.
The company imported a consignment of wooden door panels from China. The consignment was assessed under section 25, was released on payment of duty and taxes and was out of charge when the DIT intervened and placed a hold on it.
A counsel from law firm Franklin Law Associates appearing for the petitioner company maintained that no reason was being assigned for action by the DIT. The bench after hearing contentions directed the DIT to act strictly in accordance with law.
