KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mahmood A Khan on Tuesday asked Bilal Bhatti advocate, counsel for Pakistan customs to summon officers who auctioned the goods while ignoring restraining order of court.

Meelano traders, petitioner company moved the court. The counsel appearing for the petitioner maintained that two orders including one passed by Special Customs Appellate Tribunal were in favor of the petitioner. He said that an order restraining the officials from any adverse action was also in field yet the goods have been auctioned at a low price.

We have offered to pay assessed amount of rupees 65 lacs but they have auctioned the goods for one third price, the counsel for petitioner maintained. The bench expressed displeasure and asked the counsel for respondents to summon all officers involved. We want to see who dared to violate order of courts, the bench said deferring further proceedings till March 10.
