KARACHI: Anti-smuggling organization (ASO) of MCC Preventive Karachi has seized 48,000 liters of smuggled diesel oil loaded in a Hino tanker, and lodged FIR against unidentified culprits.
On the directives of Collector Saquif Saeed, Additional Collector Haroon Malik and Deputy Collector Asim Awan, ASO staff led by Superintendent Jamal Zia and IPS Iftikhar Hasan is keeping strict check on the transportation of smuggled goods including diesel oil.
During the course, ASO staff at Mochko Choke Point on RCD Highway, a Hino Tanker was intercepted. The driver of vehicle informed that the goods were taken from M/s Byco Refinery to be delivered at Daulatpur Bulk Depot, and presented Delivery Order issued by M/s Byco.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle slipped away and didn’t come back. Suspicious of the conduct of vehicle driver, the delivery order was verified with M/s Byco, and they confirmed the document to be fake.
The diesel along with vehicle worth Rs20 million cumulatively were seized and investigations are underway.
