KARACHI: Pakistan’s textile exporters have pinned high hopes on Heimtextil 2020 held in Frankfurt, Germany, and expect sizeable orders within next two months.

Vice President SITE Association Farhan Ashrafi said Heimtextil 2020 has been quite successful as a large number of foreign buyers evinced interest in Pakistani products. “We are holding business to business meetings with the buyers and sizeable export orders are expected in a couple of months”.

Exhibitors and visitors accepted the new trade fair concept with great enthusiasm and confirmed the trade fair’s position as the world’s most important meeting place for the industry.

This time a total of 231 exhibitors represented Pakistan. These manufacturers rely on Heimtextil as an attractive platform for export business and as a trendsetting launch event where they can present their new season products at the start of the year

Khawaja Khurram Naeem, Pakistan Commercial Counselor in Germany, said that the exporters had improved their work in order to compete in the market. “Many exporters who have invested in new plants and brought new technologies and this creates a hope among the exports that they have a chance to grow. We are trying our best to educate our exporters more and help them in our best ways”.

Zaki Bashir from Gul Ahmed and Executive Committee All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) expressed his views about the 50th edition of Heimtextil 2020 by saying, “We have been one of the oldest exhibitors from Pakistan at Heimtextil. This year we are very happy with the turnout of visitors and presented our new products and designs to a variety of buyers from all over the world.”

Moin A. Razzak from Hasham Towel and Executive Committee Towel Manufacturers’ Association of Pakistan (TMA) said they had received very good response from the buyers.

The international home textiles industry has enjoyed a promising start at Heimtextil as around 70,000 visitors experienced design innovations by around 3,000 international exhibitors from 65 countries. With growth on both the visitor and exhibitor side, Heimtextil has convinced the world with its unique position for home and household textile.

A major spotlight of the show was Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS) stand in Hall 3.0 and Student’s delegation from Asian Institute of Fashion Design. Around 900 trade visitors from Pakistan attended Heimtextil Frankfurt 2020.
