KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has initiated investigations into the reported corruption and misuse of authority by Chairman Fishermen’s Cooperative Society and others.
NAB has advised Chairman Hafiz Abdul Berr to provide copy of byelaws of Fishermen’s Cooperative Society; copy of Service Rules and list of chairmen of the society in the last 10 years.
Fishermen’s Cooperative Society is registered under Cooperative Societies Act, 1925. Hafiz Abdul Berr has also been advised to personally appear before Combined Investigation Team (CIT) at NAB Karachi.
An official said that NAB will also be looking into the evasion of taxes at fisheries.
