OSLO: Europes largest small-scale hydro power company, Småkraft AS, has appointed Terje Vedeler as new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Chairman of the Board Tor Syverud states: “I am pleased to welcome a new CEO with long and broad experience from competitive companies and industries.” Terje Vedeler will start in his new position early in the first quarter of 2020.

 The Bergen native Vedeler holds a MSc in electrical engineering. He has long experience from internationally leading companies in the oil service and maritime sectors, such as Framo, FMC and Aker Solutions. He comes from the position as CEO in Frydenbø Industrier AS.

 “Småkraft fulfills local landowner initiatives by realising their small hydropower ambitions across Norway. The company’s track-record and long-term focus excites me tremendously,” says Terje Vedeler. “I look forward to use my technical and industrial experience to help accelerate Småkraft’s development and thus contribute to the European shift towards renewable energy.”
