KARACHI: The respondent officials of Pakistan Customs including Directorate of Intelligence & Investigations (DIT) were ordered by a division bench of High Court of Sindh on Friday to conduct themselves strictly in accordance with law.
The bench comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mahmood A Khan earlier heard counsel from Franklin Law Associates representing the petitioner. The counsel submitted that the duty paid consignments assigned to gate out were being detained on the interference of Director of DIT. The respondents have prepared seizure and also lodged FIR.
The bench after hearing ordered issuance of pre-admission notices to the respondents for Nov 07. The bench also sought comments before the next date of hearing.
The bench in view of alleged harassment by the respondents ordered them to conduct strictly in accordance with law. The bench further ordered that if there is no violation of Customs Act 1969 or adjudicating proceedings no coercive action be taken against the petitioner.
