KARACHI: MCC Appraisement East has submitted Interim Challan before Customs Court against a number of accused involved in mis-declaration of goods in respect of description, PCT Headings, quantity and import of restricted items.

Investigation Officer Malak Hashim mentioned that one arrested shipping agent Muhammad Irfan s/o Muhammad Yousuf admitted that IGM of the impugned consignment was filed on the basis of documents received from M/s Shufs Shipping Dubai, which is run by two Pakistanis Ihtasham and Umair. These two accused are also running a company in the name M/s Shufs Logistics in Faisalabad.

Muhammad Irfan informed that incorrect information was given in IGM and Bill of Loading as port of loading was mentioned as London Gateway instead of actual port of loading Jebel Ali, UAE.

The Intericm Challan mentioned that the investigations in the case are under process and final challan will be submitted in due course.

Collector MCC Appraisement East Nadeem Memon has advised DC Rana Arsalan, PA Ibrahim Khan and IO Malak Hashim to expedite the process.

It may be mentioned here that two accused including Imran Haroon of M/s Al-Aswed Associates and Muhammad Irfan of M/s ERA Marine Agencies are under judicial custody, while Ihtasham and Umair of M/s Shufs Logistics, Rehan, Qurban and Adnan of M/s NR Enterprises are absconding. Moreovr, Qaiser Abbas of M/s Ali Co, Muhammad Idrees, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Ahsan and Muzammil are on protective bail.
