SHC disposes of Solar Panels case
KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan disposed of a constitution petition filed by importer of Solar panels.
As the bench took up the matter, a counsel from Franklin Law Associates told the court that government has issued a new SRO, amending the cut off date. He further submitted that after issuance of the said SRO 947 of 2019, the custom officials have released 200 containers in just a single day while remaining 300 will be released soon.
He said that as the grievance of the petitioner has been redressed, petition is not being pressed any further.
The bench allowed the request and disposed of the petition while also ordering custom officials to issue delay detention certificates in respect of consignments subject matter of the instant petitioner.
