Deputy Collector Abdul Qudoos honored for his gallantry

ISLAMABAD: The President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi on the occasion of the Independence Day on August 14, has announced ‘Pakistan Civil Awards’ for citizens of the country and foreign nationals for their immense services towards the country.

These awards will be given at a special ceremony on the Pakistan Day, March 23, 2020.

Deputy collector customs Quetta, Dr Abdul Qudus Sheikh is getting honored for his gallantry as he was assailed by suspected smugglers last month after which he lost his life.

Dr sheikh was attacked at Gahi khan Chowk Quetta as he was returning home in the midnight subsequent to an operation in Quetta’s kolpur area۔ Dr Qudus joined newly established preventive collectorate Quetta during the month of April 2019 and with short span of time launched huge operation against smuggling mafia.

He recovered huge quantity of foreign origin goods from smugglers.

The prime accused in the murder of Deputy Collector Abdul Qudoos Sheikh Haji Sadiq Achakzai was arrested by the authorities, but he was granted bail in all cases by the Baluchistan Court.
