KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan on Tuesday ordered provisional release of a Toyota Surf vehicle.
The vehicle was detained by Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations (DIT) for being non custom paid.
The bench today after hearing Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate, counsel for petitioner Imran Muhammad Anwar and custom’s counsel ordered officials present to release the vehicle forthwith while disposing off the petition.
The same bench also ordered production of a Wrangler Jeep while hearing a petition filed by auction purchaser Shah Jahan Baloch. Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that it was sold by Pakistan Army and allegation of being smuggled one means that armed forces are smuggling and using such vehicles.
The bench ordered DIT officials to produce the vehicle within seven days before the Nazir of the court.
