KARACHI: MCC JIAP has foiled a bid to smuggle narcotics into the country and seized Cocaine worth Rs23 million.

The Customs staff of MCC JIAP, Karachi, posted at International Arrival, Jinnah International Airport intercepted a suspected Nigerian national namely Obinnia Ezeani coming to Pakistan in transit from UAE by M/s Emirates airlines flight EK- 600.

The pax was diverted to red channel and detailed examination of his baggage led to seizure of Cocaine 1180 grams worth Rs. 23.36 million, concealed under the bottom of his bag, he was arrested and an FIR in this regard has been lodged to initiate investigations with a view to apprehending real individuals /culprits / financiers and collaborators behind smuggling of cocaine to Pakistan.

Pakistan Customs continues its resolve to strike against smugglers and dedicated this case of narcotics to the efforts and gallantry exhibited against smuggling by martyred officer of Pakistan Customs Dr. Abdul Qadoos Sheikh.
