LONDON: Global Ports Holding Plc (GPH), the world’s largest independent cruise port operator, has announced announce that it has been notified by the government of Tunisia that the Group’s bid, submitted in a joint venture with MSC Cruises S.A. (MSC), to acquire Goulette Shipping Cruise has been successful.[the_ad id=”31605″]Goulette Shipping Cruise operates the cruise terminal in La Goulette, Tunisia.

The concession to operate the cruise port was awarded to Goulette Shipping Cruise in 2006 on a 30-year basis, with a right to extend the term for an additional 20 years. While passenger volumes have been low in recent years, in 2010, La Goulette welcomed 900k passenger and between 2011-2014 it welcomed on average 441k cruise passengers per annum.

All parties will now work together to conclude the legal agreement for the acquisition and we will provide an update at our interim results in August 2019.
