KARACHI: Collector Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) Ferozalam Junejo has requested the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to stay the transfers and postings of Principal Appraisers and Appraising Officers as the Collectorate is running extremely short of staff.[the_ad id=”31605″]In a letter to Chief Management – FBR, Junejo noted the Collectorate is facing acute shortage of assessment and processing staff i.e. two Principal Appraisers and five Appraising Officers, which is effecting the clearance, processing and revenue collection work in the last quarter of the financial year.
In addition to above, the country-wide work of online mobile phones registration and assessment through PTA-WeBOC module is also assigned to AFU Karachi. The shortage of AOs is also affecting this task and causing delays in clearance of mobile phones.
The Collectorate is also addressing a large number of complaints being received through emails on regular basis.
“Tariq Aziz and Mr. Junaid Malik, Appraising Officers of MCC JIAP, were associated with new mobile phone assessment module and are dealing with piling up stock of registrations. Therefore these officers may be allowed to continue to work in this Collectorate till suitable replacements are provided by the Board,” Collector Ferozalam Junejo noted.
