SHC dismiss petition against ASO hunting smuggled vehicle

KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan on Monday dismissed a petition filed by Mrs Ramsha against officials of Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Pakistan Customs.

The petitioner alleged that a team of custom officials raided a place where her Toyota Land Cruiser was parked. The custom officials are harassing us, she alleged seeking indulgence of the court.

Khalid Rajpar advocate appearing for the respondent department submitted that a FIR has been registered as the driver available in the alleged smuggled vehicle fled away from the sport seeing the custom’s team. The petitioner has first to establish her locus standing, the counsel for ASO submitted. The bench later dismissed the petition for non prosecution as no one was present on behalf of the petitioner.
