QUETTA: MCC Quetta foiled a bid to smuggle foreign origin goods and recovered Rs 10 million worth of foreign origin goods at Yaroo and Khuzdar customs check post. [the_ad id=”31605″]Collector Preventive Quetta Iftikhar Ahmad received information through his own sources that few smugglers intended to smuggle foreign origin goods in clandestine way. He passed directions to Additional Collector Preventive Jameel Baloch and Deputy Collector Asim ur Rehman and all check posts were alerted.
Subsequently, a van coming from border area was signaled to stop at Yaroo check post, the driver tried to sped away. Customs staff shot tyres of the van, which was later taken into custody. Driver managed to escape.
The checking led to recovery of foreign origin goods including ladies and gents cloth, clutch plates, submersible router, car speakers and other miscellaneous goods of around Rs6 million.
In another event at Khuzdar surab check post, custom staff detained two trucks coming from Iran border carrying Iranian origins tiles. Drivers managed to escape. Market value of the said goods is around Rs4 million. The vehicles are worth Rs10 million.
Superintendents Khurshid Hassani, Saleem Mandokhail, Inspectors Rehmatulla, Jameel Kakar, Aslam Solungi, Ahmed Nawaz Zehri and others participated in both operations. Collector Preventive Dr Iftikhar appreciated preventive staff.
