LAHORE: The 2nd edition of TEXPO Pakistan 2019 concluded on 14th of April, 2019 at the Lahore Expo Centre.

TEXPO is a flagship sector-specific trade event of TDAP. In 2nd edition of TEXPO 363 foreign buyers/ importers from 70 countries visited the exhibits of 231 exhibitors participating in TEXPO to get first hand experience of the whole range of Textile products being offered by Pakistan.

Prominent buyers who attended the TEXPO, 2019 including Uniqlo Co Ltd (Japan), Target Inc (USA), Primark (UK), Orient International Holding (China), Tendam (Spain), Versaudet (France), Ituri (Spain), Fashionlinq BV (the Netherlands) etc.

TDAP also organized a three-day fashion show featured a spectrum of top designers from Pakistan including Sana Safinaz, Khaadi, HSY, Nomi Ansari, Sania Maskatiya, Zara Shahjehan, Yasir Waheed etc. Moreover, TDAP also organized city tour and in total 102 interested delegates visited Dehli Gate, Shahi Hamam, Masjid Wazir Khan, Lahore Fort, Dewan-e- Khas, Sheesh Mahal, Badshahi Mosque, Hazoori Bagh. Delegates from Hong Kong especially visited Wagah Border, Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore Fort. Delegates from Hong Kong especially visited Wagah Border and Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore Fort.

FPCCI (Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry), LCCI (Lahore Chambers of Commerce & Industry), also participated in the event and held extensive negotiations with their foreign counterparts and businessmen; other trade associations also held detailed negotiations with foreign buyers during the show.

10 (Ten) MoUs were signed during TEXPO. Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry based in Hong Kong signed four MOUs including LCCI for visa facilitation & Trade Investment, Women Chamber (Lahore), Pakistan Hong Kong Trade Investment Forum, Handicraft Association of Pakistan (HAP); Global Exhibitions Director of M/s. International Exhibition and Conference Group Australia signed Memorandum of Understanding with four associations / councils including “Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers & Exporters Association” (PCMEA), “Handicraft Association of Pakistan” (HAP), “All Pakistan Bedsheet and Upholstery Manufacturers Association” (APBUMA), “Pakistan Fashion Design Council” (PFDC); Handicraft Association of Pakistan (HAP) signed two MOUs with Hong Kong Economic & Trade Association and
with Euro Asia One Belt One Road Center (OBOR).

For the first three days of the TEXPO, senior management from Ministry of Commerce & TDAP had detailed meetings with different country delegates, and discussed the possible ways to increase bilateral trade. The meetings held with country delegations includes Russia, Bahrain, USA, China, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Czech Republic, Vietnam, Nigeria and France. Other important meetings include meetings with Italian Ambassador in Pakistan, Mr. Bashir Ali Muhammad Chairman & CEO of M/s. Gul Ahmed and meetings with leading business delegates from China & Germany

TDAP organized Trade Envoys’ Conference on the last day of TEXPO, 2019. The objective of this Trade Envoy conference was to provide a platform where private sector experts and Trade Officers could jointly formulate a way forward to counter region-specific challenges related to our sectors to achieve the common purpose i.e. increase in exports on sustainable basis.[the_ad id=”31605″]
