Customs Quetta and Hyderabad launch crackdown against illegal fuel stations
QUETTA: MCC Quetta (Preventive) and MCC Hyderabad jointly initiated a crackdown against illegal fuel stations at Jaffarabad –Jaccoabad High way and recovered 75000 liters foreign origin smuggled diesels, while 8 such fuel stations were dismantled.
Customs authorities also lodged FIR against the owners of these illegal fuel stations as they gathered around and resorted to violence and blocked the highway.
An official said these fuel stations were selling low quality smuggled commodity, which was causing loss to the national exchequer as well as harmful for the environment and vehicles consuming it.
Chief Collector Baluchistan Dr Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhry received credible information about the smuggling of diesel and functioning illegal stations on the main Highway of Jaffarabad- Hyderabad.
He immediately passed directions to Collector of Customs (Preventive) Quetta, Iftikhar Ahmed and Collector Hyderabad Khalid Jamali,. A raiding team was constituted under the supervision of Additional Collector (Preventive) Quetta Jameel Baloch comprising Deputy Collector Preventive Kaleemullah Wagun and Assistant Collector Akmal Durrani, to take strict action against these unscrupulous elements.
Inspectors who participated were from Quetta preventive section include Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Naseer Shaheen, Masroor Mangal and Mosum Khan while from Hyderabad Zulfiqar Jamali, Abdul Rauf , Ayaz Gilal , Muhammad Khan zardari, Asad Mirza, Arif Mamon, Asif Gumro and Shah Muhammad along with Anti Smuggling Staff.[the_ad id="31605"]
