DOHA: Medicare Group has disclosed the official opening of Al Wakra Clinics and Urgent Care Unit.[the_ad id=”31605″]The opening ceremony and ribbon cutting was attended by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani – Chairman of the Board, a number of the honorable Board Members, Mr. Khalid Mohamed Al-Emadi – CEO, deputy CEO, Chief of Medical Staff, in addition to a number of Heads of departments and the senior medical staff of Al Ahli Hospital.
Al Wakra Clinics and Urgent Care Unit is located at Al Wakra area. The opening of the center is one of the first steps to achieve the strategic expansion of Medicare Group in various regions of the country, especially in areas with high population density.
The center is expected to provide the medical and health services to citizens and residents living in the south of Doha City and Al Wakra and its environs, estimated at 330,000 people.
The total space of the center is approximately 4,400 square meters. It contains 15 beds in the Urgent Care Unit, 36 rooms divided into the following specialized clinics: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Dental, General Internal Medicine and its specializations, General Surgery and its specializations in addition to the Medical Supports sections (pending final authorities approval) such as radiology and laboratory sections.
The center is operated by Al Ahli Hospital and includes many clinics and supporting medical services and it aims to provide a high quality of the medical, therapeutic and diagnostic services in the same level as the services offered by Al Ahli Hospital, except those medical cases requiring specialized and advanced medical services or requiring hospital admissions on which the center will transfer the patients to Al Ahli Hospital in those cases.
The center will be fully electronically linked to Al Ahli Hospital system so that the patients accordingly will have one electronic medical file that the treating doctors can access to check the medical history, health information, tests, laboratory reports, radiographs, whether underwent at Al Ahli Hospital or at the center.
