SHC to hear reference, petition on April 14

KARACHI: A  Special Custom Reference Application (SCRA) and a constitution petition pertaining to alleged evasion of duty and taxes worth rupees 6 million will be heard by a custom’s appellate bench of High Court of Sindh on April 14.

According to details a petition filed by Muhammad Usman Shah through Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate came up for hearing before a division bench of SHC in respect of a Prado vehicle.

A counsel appearing for the custom department maintained that an order was passed by single member of Special Customs Appellate Tribunal while cases where such a huge amount of rupees 6 million is involved shall be heard by two member bench. The counsel also pointed out that a SCRA has also been filed challenging the order of the tribunal.

The bench in view of submissions ordered clubbing of the petition as well as SCRA and fixed April 14 for a detailed hearing.
