KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Abdul Malik Gaddi on Tuesday tagged a petition filed by Telenor Pakistan and a Special Customs Reference Appeal filed by custom department and deferred further hearing for two weeks.
According to details, Telenor Pakistan imported DC Cabinets with cooling coils. The Model Customs Collectorate, West released the goods but the DIT detained the same disputing PCT heading.
The SHC ordered provisional release of the goods and in the meantime, a show cause was issued to the petitioner/ imported which was assailed in an appeal before the Special Customs Appellate Tribunal which ruled in favour of the petitioner. The department moved for encashment of the security which was stayed by the SHC on a previous date of hearing.
Today, the court was told that the department has filed a Special Customs Reference Application (SCRA). The bench hearing this development tagged the petition and SCRA and adjourned hearing for two weeks.[the_ad id=”31605″]
