Import of bullet proof BMW, SHC asks petitioner to file application for modification of order

KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Agha Faisal directed counsel for a petitioner to file an application for modification of earlier order in case of an imported bullet proof BMW.

One Jahanzaib khan Burki imported the vehicle which was later sold out and purchased by media celebrity Aamir Liaquat. [the_ad id=”32940″]The import was against an NOC while the valuation department assessed the duty and taxes on higher side. The petitioner however availing relief under section 81 of the Customs Act got the vehicle provisionally released by depositing a pay order of Rs4.0 million.

However as the Special Custom Appellate Tribunal ruled in favour of the petitioner, he moved the court for refund of the pay order.

The bench after hearing Ms Dil khurram Shaheen advocate, counsel for petitioner and examining an order passed by he bench earlier asked her to file an application for modification of the previous order. The bench put off further hearing to an unspecified date.
