KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued the revised Active Taxpayers List (ATL) for Tax Year 2018, which shows that around 1.6 million taxpayers filed their income tax returns in Tax Year 2018, down 13 percent as against 1.84 million taxpayers filing tax returns in Tax Year 2017.
The FBR issues ATL for the latest tax year on every first day of March, and names appearing on the list will be entitled to all benefits available for filers.
Name in the list is mandatory for taxpayers to avail lower rates of withholding tax which have been defined in the tax laws for filers and non-filers.
With the issuance of new active taxpayers’ list the FBR will also suspend the weekly updated list as the late filers have been denied to have their names on the list. [the_ad id=”31605″]
