KARACHI: As part of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), PIA in collaboration with Make-A-Wish Pakistan arranged flight simulator session of flying Boeing 777 for children suffering from an acute disease of thalassemia. The children making wish to become a pilot, Master Uzaifa Alvi and Master Sami Hussain were given commercial pilot’s training in flight simulator by PIA’s Chief Pilot Safety and Quality Assurance Captain Amir Aftab at PIA Training Centre. Later, they visited PIA Head Office.

PIA’s Chief Human Resource Officer, Air Vice Marshal Soban Nazir Syed decorated the children with epaulettes of Captain in Command. The President of Make a wish Pakistan, Mr. Ishtiaq Baig along with volunteers of the foundation were present on the occasion. Mr. Baig appreciated the gesture of PIA management by accommodating the wish of the children. He also presented a shield of Make a Wish foundation to PIA.

In his message President & CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik said he appreciates the efforts of Make-A-Wish Foundation for this noble cause towards fulfilment of dreams of children, suffering from such diseases and gave a commitment as part of PIA CSR to facilitate Make-A-Wish Foundation in their future endeavors. He also prayed and wished for the early recovery and new life for children.
