KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Abdul Malik Gaddi on Thursday adjourned hearing of a number of petitions filed by importers of tyres till Friday at 10 a.m.

The adjournment came as no officer from Model Customs Collectorate West was in attendance while officials from East Collectorate were present.

The counsel for petitioners submitted that court has ordered provisional release. It was further contended that the consignments were detained without adjudication or issuance of show cause.

The bench however noting that West collectorate is un-represented while summoning officials from West to make appearance on Friday at 10 am sharp.

The same bench also adjourned hearing of a petition filed by Digicom Mobile Private Limited till Feb 26 after counsel for Pakistan Customs sought time to handle the controversy.
