KARACHI : A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) ordering provisional release of a consignment of laminated polythene bags sought compliance report by February 08, 2019.
The bench was hearing a petition filed by Samad Trading Company through law firm Franklin Law Associates against detention of comsignment over valuation dispute and alleged incorrect PCT heading mentioned in Goods Declaration.
The custom authorities of Port Muhammad Bin Qasim ordered detention maintaining that these were woolen bags and thus valuation is different from the laminated polythene bags.
A test ordered by SHC established that GD and PCT heading stated by the importer is correct. The importer however in order to avoid delay expressed readiness to submit differential amount.
