KARACHI: A custom appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) stayed destruction notice issued by Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Directorate of Pakistan Customs while fixing Jan 25 as next date of hearing in a petition filed by FAS Traders.

The petitioner company imported assorted watches and other items which were detained by the IPR on the basis of violation of trade mark and alleged complaint by the sole distributor within Pakistan.

The petitioner filed an appeal against detention and appellate authority set aside the order by the IPR Directorate after which the instant petition was filed.

In the meanwhile the IPR department issued notices that the consignment will be destructed against which the petitioner / imported filed an application for staying the destruction through Franklin Law Associates. The bench after hearing the counsel for imported stayed implementation on notice of destruction fixing Jan 25 as date for hearing of the main petition.
