KARACHI: The Directorate of Transit Trade Karachi has advised the management of South Asia Pakistan Terminals (SAPT) to provide equipment and facilities to the Customs staff at the hall of transit trade.

An official said working environment for Customs staff was very bad at South Asia Pakistan Terminal (SAPT), and the management of the terminal was quite apathetic to the problems faced by Customs staff in discharging their duties.

The official said SAPT management kept no contact or interaction with the Customs staff even the officers.

Directorate of Transit Trade has advised SAPT management to provide various facilities to Customs staff/appraisers’ hall of Directorate of Transit Trade, Karachi at SAPT.

SAPT is advised to arrange printers/internet access without restrictions, water dispensers at the earliest to ensure hassle free working of examination and scanning being carried out by the Customs officials.

SAPT management has also been advised to upgrade appraisers’ hall with fresh white wash.
